Hey Girlies!
So -- I know I don't BLOG much and I'm sorry.... I just believe that y'alls lives may be a TAD cooler than mine... WAY cooler! Anyway, here goes.
I cannot even remember the last time I "blogged" BUT here are some things going on in my life. I will organize this blog by making a "list". I will number each topic and then discuss - ha. Very teacherly. bah ha.
1. I finally moved into a new classroom in the middle of February. Not to toot my own horn or anything but it is ADORABLE and very organized. A teacher/slightly OCD friend helped me organize and decorate for one whole weekend. I had so much help from teacher friends at school, it was amazing. I did post a FEW pictures on facebook - but they honestly don't do justice to the room. It is just so darling and so much better than the dungeon I was in. I also got a new parking spot! The new addition to the school is so nice and my class has adjusted wonderfully to it! Which is extremely exciting. I still have a challenging group of children to spend my hours with every day. i love them with all of my heart though - and will remember these 22 forever. It is so amazing how they have matured and grown since August. They can ALL read!!! They can add, subtract, they recognize the four coins and know how much they are worth --- that is just to name a few things! I enjoy teaching - but still wonder daily if it is what I am "supposed" to do forever.
2. Just like Robyn - I have been training to run a half marathon with my teacher friend Anna. I am extremely proud about the progress and strides we have made! Naturally - people like Robyn will ALWAYS be better runners than sisters like me BUT I can say this to you girls (bc u are my BFFs) I shock myself many days with my ability and improvements with running. When we first started this running plan - I could literally only run for 10 minutes without stopping.... the most I have run now without stopping is roughly 80 minutes!!!!!!!!! I ran Jamie's mom 5k in January, a 5k in Mobile over the Mardi Gras weekend, Anna and I went to Mobile last weekend to run the Azaela Trail Run 10K, the Half is in Nashville on April 24th, and I am planning on running another 10K in May in Tupelo. To date, the most I have run without stopping is 7 miles - done it more than once too. Which is HUGE for Liz. ha. I have grown to semi enjoy running, I have great days, good days, okay days, and legit HORRIBLE days with it - but hey thats life. :-)
3. Anna and I have grown super close through running and honestly just like meshing well together! She is a great friend like all of you. Some of you got to meet her but I dont think Amanda and Robyn did. She knows about all of you - of course! Anyway - we are in the process of finding a new place to live. We are living together next year! My place right now is just TOO small and as we all know I love to shop and I am SLIGHTLY a hoarder. HA HA. I am excited about our new friendship and living together!
4. I am on the Relay For Life committee for my school. As a fundraiser I gave the idea to do a Penny War between K, 1, and 2nd grade. Anyway - we are doing it and its been a HUGE success. The kids are having SO much fun with it and we have raised over $800 just by doing that. Anna and I are in charge of it all and Starkville Daily News came to interview us and do a story on us the other day - anyway we are going to the the cover story on the newspaper in Starkville on Monday. If yall want to check it out online I am sure it will be there! :-) I'm famous - HAHAHA NOT! We are also selling t shirts, doing a spelling bee, having a pie a teacher in the face competition, and having jean pass days. Anyway - I am excited. I am working with a fun group of ladies from school! We meet on Wednesday afternoons at random local restaurants and usually have a few cocktails while planning ha ha. very fun. Relay for Life in Starkville is on May 7th if anyone wants to come or donate to the cause HAHA JK girlies!
5. I am teaching Summer School during the month of June. I will be teaching Pre-K. I think it will be good practice for me AND supposedly our principal lets us keep any kids from our summer school class for our next year class -- soooo hopefully i will get a GREAT group and train them this summer --- or get a bad group and set them free! haha!
6. So you may have all seen on Facebook - or maybe you didn't, BUT my darling little brother A.J. got into NYU and I am almost positive that that is where he will be going in the fall. I am SO INCREDIBLY proud of him For lack of a better saying -- he has worked his ASS off during his four years of HS and his dreams are coming true right now. Plus it will be a GREAT place to visit! :-) ha ha.
7. Guys - hmmm well I am single. I do have a 37 year old piano player in Destin who loves me ha but that is another day another blog. I am trying honestly to re configure and have a personal "rebirth" with all of this. I am trying to "choose happiness". My life is okay. I will find my soulmate or whoever I am supposed to find when I am supposed to, Right now I am trying to just have fun - maybe too much fun, but fun. Some of you may have heard longer versions of my guy sagas - but I honestly just dont enjoy typing all this SHIZ out. Onto cooler things..... ha ha
8. I am excited about the new DWTS season - I like Erin Andrews - she was a ZTA at Florida! Go ZTA! hahaha! Speaking of Zeta - I did go to Zeta Day (Zeta Day is when all of the chapters in AL and MS get together) in Birmingham a few weekends ago. My sorority sister Kayla came in town and we went and then shopped till we dropped. I am glad we went because I actually ended up winning an award - ha ha. The alum chapter that I am in here in Starkville nominated me for the Outstanding Graduate Award. It was such a surprise!!! The description that was "read" when they gave out the award made me cry - Jennifer (she is the General Advisor for my collegiate chapter) wrote it. It was extremely sweet. Not sure if yall know this BUT I am the Vice President AND probably President next year (u know how i get sucked in ha) of the alum chapter here and I am the New Member Advisor for the MSU collegiate chapter. Oh zettttta :-) i heard the call and it just wont go away ha ha.
Well anyway -- egg hunt and spring party tomorrow - this teach should go to bed NOW.

bring it on 2010...
It is 2010. I like to say it this way: twenty ten.... NOT two thousand ten. Just saying.
As this new year begins I keep finding myself thinking about what all happens in a year? The answer that keeps ringing in my head is this: "a shit ton." Excuse my language, but really it absolutely amazes me when I think about everything that has occurred or "gone down" in the past year of my life. We will get into that at a later time... thank you.
First week back at school -- snow day with no snow. Loved it.
Nothing too exciting happened this past week -- so I am sad to say I am not bringing anything to fancy to this post. I will try better next time. ha.
Oh I did get a new cell phone that I am 100% kinda obsessed with. It is just so fancy! I have a friend that claims that I get a new phone every other month -- not true. My phones just break.. A LOT.
peace.
