Baby Bark #2 is....

A BOY!!!!

Heinz will become a big brother on August 13th (well that's the due date)!

We went to the doctor (me, Brad, & Heinz) to find out the gender of Baby Bark #2! I kept my eyes towards the ceiling while Brad and Heinz (really, just Brad) stared intently at the monitor. When the tech was finished with me I stepped into the hallway and she told Brad the gender of Baby Bark #2! We headed to Mimi and JoeJoe's house for a little gender reveal party! Mimi had snacks and champs (pink bottles and blue bottles). It was fun to find out that we will continue to be boy parents and that Heinz will be a big brother to a little brother! I can just picture them -- best friends and partners in crime for many years to come!

We set up iPads and cell phones with FaceTime so out of town family could find out Baby Bark #2's gender with us!

Samuel "Murphy" Barksdale is due to join the Barksdale crew on August 13th. We can't wait to meet you, hold you, hug you, and love on you sweet Murphy!

His name is coming from very special roots. Brad's grandfather's (his mom's dad) first name was Samuel. He passed away before I was part of Brad's life but I am honored to carry on his name and legacy. Monsignor Murphy is such a special person to me. I grew up going to Mass and school at St. Dominic in Mobile listening to his beautiful sermons that he gave to "his dear people", sharing meals with him, and getting my cheek squeezed (sometimes painfully) by this sweet and holy man. Brad and I were so excited and honored that at 90+ years old he traveled to Germantown to marry us. It made the best day of our lives even more special. I cannot wait for Murphy Barksdale to be here!

Brad found the perfect box and spray painted it black for me! I came up with a saying, printed it out, used some Crayola markers, found a banner on sale at Target and BOOM -- GENDER REVEAL box!

The Barksdale Crew: party of 4 coming soon! 💙💗💙💙

Heinz,
You are going to be the best big brother! Look at your sweet face up there -- so excited about Murph or ready to get at that balloon? We love you so big!

Murphy,
You are exactly what our family needs! God's plan is perfect. I am so excited to be a boy mama to you and Heinz. We already love you so much and we can't wait to meet you sweet baby boy

Xoxo,
Mama

Heinz is T•W•O!

Long time... No post!

As of March 21st, 2016 our baby boy is TWO! (Technically to date he is a little over 27 months)

These 27 months have FLOWN by -- people aren't lying when they say you blink and they are teenagers. Not that I want time to slow down --- I just want to make sure we enjoy this blessing the way God intends us to. Heinz -- you are such a wonderful blessing and we love you so deeply.

Heinz's 2nd birthday party was SO FUN to plan. He loves Mickey Mouse (clubhouse) so much that picking a party theme was a no brainer! His party was at our house  (now our old house -- different post, different day). We had hotdogs, chips, veggies, and fruit. We had ice cream and Mickey Mouse cupcakes that mama and daddy made. We had soft drinks, juice boxes for the kids, and some yummy adult drinks. Mama took lots of pictures! We were surrounded by friends and family that love Heinz so much! Mickey Mouse aka BB (Brad's dad) even showed up!

Heinz,
Thank you for the best two years of our life! You truly changed our lives -- you made us mama and daddy. I've wanted to be your mama forever and I am now and it's the BEST job there ever was! We are so excited to watch you grow and to see you become a big brother soon! Love you always our baby boy.
